The first free lecture on combating money laundering provided by the Hong Kong Customs for money service operators this year will be held at the Central Library of Hong Kong on September 2nd and 7th. MSO licensed institutions interested in attending the lecture must fill out the attached registration form before August 21st and submit it to the Money Service Supervision Department of the Hong Kong Customs by email, fax or mail for arrangement. The licensed institution of the money service operator will send personnel to attend this compliance training, and the customs will record the attendees and the names of the licensed institutions represented as part of the 5-hour compliance training every year. The Money Service Operator License (MSO) guidelines stipulate that licensed institutions must provide no less than five hours of compliance training per year. License holders can participate in two annual anti money laundering lectures organized by customs (free), or participate in compliance/anti money laundering training lectures organized by other institutions recognized by customs (proof of participation required). Licensed institutions that do not meet the requirement of five hours of compliance training per year have the opportunity to be challenged during license renewal.
